Giving Thanks

Saturday, November 28th, 2009

We had such a wonderful Thanksgiving with the Camps family in Tallahassee. You have never seen such hospitality, accompanied by the most delicious food around! You’ll see what we mean in these photos from the day…

Here is our host, Dr. Joe Camps, slicing the ham…

Just look at that spread!

About 60 family members were there to share the meal. It was such an incredible time of chatting, laughing and (of course) eating!

And the whole group…can you imagine feeding all these people??? Thank you again, Camps family, for your hospitality and generosity!

God Bless America!

Today we remember those who have served our country so sacrificially. Here are some photographs from the funeral of a true war hero – Shannon’s grandfather, Bob Burgett, who passed away last year. He served our country in Europe during WWII and taught all of us the importance of treating our veterans with the dignity and respect they deserve. God bless our veterans, and God bless America!

One of our favorite holiday traditions is our annual Halloween party. Our friends really outdid themselves with their costumes this year. Here are a few photos from the party - enjoy!

Ritchie Family Portrait Session

Sunday, November 1st, 2009

We had so much fun with this photo shoot – it just took us a while to get started!

We had scheduled to meet the family down at the Gazebo in downtown Venice.  On our way to the shoot, we received a phone call from Cait.  They couldn’t find the baby’s diaper bag and were running a little late.  No problem, we’d wait for them.  About 15 minutes later we got a phone call from Matt.  The diaper bag was still missing and they were in an absolute panic! There was no way they could possibly make the photo shoot.  How disappointing.

Mark and I headed across the street to have dinner at TJ Carney’s. We had just ordered drinks when we got a call from Matt –  the diaper bag had reappeared!!!   So they were wondering if we could have the photo shoot after all. Of course!  We walked back to the Gazebo and got started.

Then came the challenge of getting 2 adults, 1 baby, and 2 dogs to all look at the camera at the same time. Not an easy task! But we were able to get some fabulous photos like this one:

After we had a few shots of the whole family,  Mark played with the dogs while I shot Matt and Cait playing with Kylie. Then I took a few of Kylie by herself.  Kylie was in a great mood that day!  But she did keep trying to eat the grass…hehe.  She’s seven months old now so she has just reached the age that she’s able to sit by herself, though she still tips over every once in a while.  Too cute!

Here are a few of our favorite photos from the day. Enjoy!
